Shutesbury Road Culvert Enhancement Project Questions and Answers:
10/5/22
Q: I live on Number Six Road, will I be able to get out while the road is closed?
A: Yes, both Number Six and Old Mountain Roads will be open with residents able to get out. Shutesbury Road will be closed in between them though, so to go south from Number Six means going around the detour and going north from Old Mountain Road means going around the detour.
Q: Can I leave a car on the side of the road on the other side?
A: No, if a resident on the other side says you can leave a car in their yard that is fine, but no additional cars can be left on the roadsides. You will not be able to walk through the construction site to reach other road.
Q: Is there a detour?
A: Yes, the detour will go around the closure by taking Pratt Corner Road to Market Hill Road to January Hills Road to Cushman Road or the other way around. The detour will be marked.
Q: What will you do if the project is running behind schedule?
A: The contractor will be ready to work later in the evenings if needed to keep the job on schedule. The goal is to have the road open for school buses on Tuesday morning.
Q: The bus doesn't drop my child off until 3:30 on Friday afternoon, will the road be closed then?
A: No, the plan is to close the road at 5:00 pm on Friday, hopefully after all buses.
Q: Will the Transfer station still be open?
A: yes.
Q: One of the signs posted state that the road will be closed on the 8th and others say the 7th, which is correct?
A: The road is to be closed at 5 pm on the 7th.
