The Leverett Conservation Commission is a seven-member volunteer board that currently has two openings for 3-year terms. If you are a Leverett resident intested in wetland and conservation issues and would like to serve your Town on a volunteer board, the Commission encourages you to apply for this position. No experience is necessary - however, interest and/or experience in wetland conservation, site plan reading, or pertinent regulatory issues is helpful.
The Conservation Commission has the statutory responsibility to protect Leverett’s natural assets, including our wetlands, watershed resources, and conservation lands. The Conservation Commission meets the first Monday of the month in the Town Hall, (or until further notice, remotely) to hold wetland application hearings and issue decisions regarding these applications, review potential wetland violations, discuss further land acquisitions or management efforts, plan future events, review legal matters, answer inquiries from other municipal boards, review complaints, discuss budgetary matters, and other related Conservation affairs. Please send your Letter of Interest and Resume to Isaiah Robeson, Conservation Chair, Leverett Conservation Commission, Town Hall, 9 Montague Road, or e-mail the Leverett Conservation Commission at leverettconcom@gmail.com.
