Audience members may not interrupt a recognized speaker nor the discussion of the Board. Please be cordial and respectful of others.

If a topic comes up that is not on the agenda yet further action is required by the Board, the Chair will add the matter, as appropriate, to a forthcoming agenda. Depending on the comment, the Board may, if they are able within the confines of the Open Meeting Law, respond with information as opposed to needing to deliberate on the matter.

- Jed updated on the health insurance situation noting that early research into rising costs is a common factor among insurance companies. Rising costs and expensive weight loss drugs are contributing factors. He noted that if towns start dropping out of Hampshire County Group Insurance Trust they may collapse. Other options are still being discussed. Pat mentioned that an all-town message was sent regarding boats being stored at the public boat launch, asking that they be removed by Oct. 3.

7:15: Pickleball group
General Discussion...
(joining the meeting: Liz E., Pete S., Roxanna N., and Sara B-J.)
Pete spoke for the group describing their desire to build a pickleball court on the corner of the field near the library. They have met with the school and library and both are in support of the idea. They are aware that there could be an issue around noise and plan to meet with neighbors of the area. One of the courts will be ADA accessible and they hope to extend a blacktop path to the accessible park the library is constructing.
They will be applying for grants and CPC funding; one estimate priced the project at $75,000. Pat is concerned about the noise and Jed commented on the encroachment into the only large area for town events. They group are aware that they will need permission from Town Meeting to use the field for this purpose. -
