Meeting Agenda:

Protocols for Public Address to the Board: During meetings, the Selectboard will attempt to find a balance between hearing from members of the community and conducting required business. All public address is at the discretion of the Chair.

When speaking, please identify yourself by name or the company/institution you represent. Please make your comments are concise (less than 2 minutes); avoid repeat statements made by others; address your comments to the Board Chair.

Audience members may not interrupt a recognized speaker nor the discussion of the Board. Please be cordial and respectful of others.

The Selectboard will generally listen to comments rather than respond immediately. If a topic comes up that is not on the agenda yet further action is required by the Board, the Chair will add the matter, as appropriate, to a forthcoming agenda. Depending on the comment, the Board may, if they are able within the confines of the Open Meeting Law, respond with information as opposed to needing to deliberate on the matter.

This meeting agenda is being posted in compliance with Massachusetts’ Open Meeting Law. The agenda may change to reflect unforeseen business.

      General Discussion...
The Planning Board has decided not to respond to the draft until they can talk bout it in their meeting Wednesday night. Board members went through their ideas and made several changes. Carol Hiem and Jacob Park also attended and mentioned change they would like to see on it. Margie will incorporate all changes and get to the planning Board tomorrow.

    • Neighborhood renewal program next steps

      General Discussion...
Tom asked to have this decision readdressed. He suggested that the town approach the program comprehensively by researching properties that are in tax arrears and have BOH or other safety violations and then getting a list to the state agency that runs the program and letting them decide if there are any properties that they want to pursue. Jed and Pat agreed that this comprehensive approach made sense. Tom will start working on it.

      Margie announced that the following:
      • The draft digital Equity Plan is on the website with a survey for feedback
      • It looked like we were not ready for an October 15th town meeting so we are now aiming for October 29th
      • The Board had been asked by Senator Comerford about supporting the rail to western mass effort and the Board agreed to review a draft support letter at the next meeting
      • The Board also has been asked to support the Affordable Housing Trust's CPC application and Pat has drafted a support letter that will be decided on at the next meeting.
      • The Contract for the Sheriff’s office to complete animal control activities for the town was signed by Tom and Pat. Police Chief was named as the primary representative to the regional dog program and Administrator was named as the secondary one.
