1. History-related Cultural Events

   • Leverett 250 - Planning for "semiquincentennial" (or, "quartermillenial", or "sestercenternnial") in Leverett. Planning for September 15, 2019 gathering, 3-5pm Leverett Library.

     General Discussion...
     LHC members chose Sunday, March 22, 2020, 3-5pm. We will request to attend a Select Board meeting in January or February to rise the issue of funding for the 250th.

   • Schooling in Leverett - "One-Room School House" Oral History Project. "Go Local..." MBLC grant update; transcriptions.

     General Discussion...
     Natane and Ann Tweedy are meeting with UMASS History Dept. student Hellen K. regarding transcribing the One Room School House interviews.

2. Strategic Planning for Historical Assets

   • CPC grant - CPC grant application for 2020 (due 12/1/19).

     General Discussion...
     "Mill assets" application needs to be explained to CPC at January meeting on Weds 1/8; Susan L. and Eva will attend. Pleun could proved a statement about "regulating development" through preservation.

   • Historical Assets Survey Questionnaire - HAS Questionnaire Report - - Next steps -- Strategies for reporting findings - Present at Finance, Zoning Bylaws Committees, Conservation Commission; Board of Health; Library Trustees; Friends of Leverett Pond, School Committee and ?

   • MAHumanities Discussion Grant for community engagement - "A Sense of Where You Are: Conversations about Leverett's historic industrial landscape and community."

   • MHC Survey & Planning - Letter of Interest - discussion of topic.

   • Slarrow Sawmill - Sale of historic property by current owners

     How can we support A. Boyce vision? Lidar map? Could we move towards designating a public "heritage area" along the Sawmill River between extant mills?

   • Cemetery Conservation

   • Individual Cemetery Issues - Leverett Cemetery Association; Town website corrections; 2017 Form E submissions - MHC offer to subsidize National Register applications for North and Hillsboro/Long Plain.

   • Veterans Recognition Project - Martha Lyon/Martha Lyon Landscape Architecture, LLC Final Report - Signage design.

     MOTION, moved by Susan Lynton, seconded by Eva Gibavic: Susan Lynton moved that the LHC work with Margie to create a bylaw. Eva Gibavic seconded the motion.
