    • Report from Diana Bella re: current Outreach

      General Discussion...
      *Diana is reaching out to other towns’ senior centers and outreach coordinators (Amherst, South Deerfield and Pelham) and wants to be able to help people before they reach a crisis.
      *She talked with the Leverett librarian, Natane, to see how she can let people, who get delivery services from the library, know she is available.
      *We talked about the Library for the Blind that provides audio recordings for blind, visually-impaired, and differently-abled people for free. Fay gave us a great deal of information about their services since she used to work for them. She will write up something about library services for the October Leverett Newsletter.

    • Report from Fay re: Village Neighbors

      General Discussion...
      Village Neighbors will have a table at the Leverett Harvest Festival on 5 October. There will also be an autumnal gathering in Wendell on Sunday , 27 October. They now have 2 new Call Manager volunteers.

    • Report from Judy H. re: Foot Clinic

      General Discussion...
      Judy Hobart reported that the foot clinic will have only one day in October because their usual Monday is the Columbus Day holiday. There will be 2 days for Foot Clinic in November.

    • Report from Sue S. re: Yoga

      General Discussion...
      The last 8 week Chair Yoga session is ending on October 16, 2019.

    • Report on Reception for Diana Bella, Elder Outreach - We had 10 people attend our Grandparent's Day party to welcome our new Outreach Coordinator. It went very well with good food and music. JR said a few words about the Leverett COA including some information about the TRIAD lending collection for those in need of: walkers, wheelchairs, hospital beds, etc. Then she introduced our new Elder Outreach Coordinator, Diana Bella. Diana explained how she would like to assist the elders in town. Diana said she had hoped more people would have come.

    • Leverett Harvest Fair, Saturday, October 5th

      General Discussion...
      *Diana and JR will share a table at the Harvest Festival. JR will work up a flyer about the COA and how it connects to other services. Diana will be attending the Mass Council on Aging event in Boston as a presenter and may take some of the workshops.
      *JR will order new pens for the COA to hand out, green in color with black ink to have for the Harvest Festival.

      General Discussion...
      *JR asked about the movie license we used to have in order to show movies at the library.
      We all agreed that we had no interest in getting this again since we never had anyone come to the movies when we used it in the past.
      *We tabled a discussion until our next meeting of possibly having a free animal shot clinic.
