An Agenda (so far) for April 11th Leverett Energy Committee 7:30pm ZOOM meeting

  1. Report on the Climate Assessment Community Conversation for Massachusetts that was run by the Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs. Items covered were; Health and Welfare, Infrastructure, Governance, Natural Environment and Economy. The hope is to start the conversation on the impacts of climate change on individuals, families and communities. The primary objective of the assessment was to identify high urgency climate risks statewide.
  2. Discuss Richard's microgrid proposal to establish an independent energy source in town that would save money for the town and guarantee an energy source in large emergencies. If members approve committee involvement we will need to discuss what support we will take on. 1. Richard informs us that the SelectBoard and members of several town committees are organizing a new comprehensive development plan for the town. It is both prudent and necessary that a member or members of the energy committee join this group. We need to discuss our role in these proceedings and see who might volunteer for this project.
  2. The Leverett Energy Conversation Project has received a lot of positive attention. We need two separate discussions about this development.

One, how do we manage the responses? Do we need an editor? Might each member take on a topic of interest and guide that particular discussion? Would some kind of organizing be helpful or do we let it flow.

Two, there have been requests for making use of our letter in other groups/towns. great! but do we stay connected? Why would we do that?
