    • Approve minutes of Dec. 7, 2021

      General Discussion...
      The minutes of Dec. 7 were approved as written.

    • Elder studies project update and award

      General Discussion...
      Margie and Melissa updated the board on the new Community Compact Grant for an elder residents’ evaluation. Town Common Research bid to conduct a needs assessment including interviews and focus groups to develop new programs. They will start in February. The grant was for $10,000 of which $600 was held in reserve for a mailing to inform residents of the study.

      MOTION, moved by Julie Shively, seconded by Tom Hankinson: Motion: To award the bid to Town Commons Research to conduct a needs assessment of elders in Leverett for $9400. Vote: 3-0 in favor.

      Pass: Aye: Julie Shively, Tom Hankinson, Melissa Colbert.

    • One Stop Grant process

      General Discussion...
      The One Stop Notice of Intent application is open again. Board members asked Margie to send last year’s data.

    • Tax bills update

    • Transfer Station employee appointment

      General Discussion...
      Annette Herda, Transfer Station Coordinator, asked to have the board appoint an attendant under 18 years old. Margie reminded the board that this is possible provided that the person provides a work permit and work with a more limited job description.

      It was also mentioned that there may be another under-age employee working at the Transfer Station. Margie will follow up with Annette to see if that is true.

      MOTION, moved by Julie Shively, seconded by Tom Hankinson: . Motion: To hire Jackson Barber-Just as Transfer Station Attendant pending a satisfactory physical; a work permit; and a limited job description at $15.56/hour. Vote: 3-0 in favor.

    • Update on Delta and neighbors meeting

      General Discussion...
      Tom and Margie met with the neighbors of and representatives from Delta Sand and Gravel to hear complaints of noise and the possible discontinuation of Hubbard Hill Rd. for expansion of the gravel pit. Excessive noise had been reported along with some tree cutting that raised concern. Delta representatives listened and responded. Ultimately, they would like support from the Leverett Select Board to discontinue Hubbard Hill Rd. from the bottom in exchange for a noise buffer and new trail.

The listing of matters is those reasonably anticipated by the Chair which may be discussed at the meeting. Not all items listed may in fact be discussed and other items not listed may also be brought up for discussion to the extent permitted by law.
